Double delight for design students' internships

The USA based global fashion brand, Old Navy, has chosen two lucky and talented students from the School of Textiles and Design for an all- expenses paid internship at their HQ in San Francisco in June 2016.

The fashion brand approached the School in their hunt for a top student to take part in their prestigious Design Internship Programme, but were so impressed by the creative talent in the shortlisted portfolios that they awarded two internships.

Now 20 year old Beth Neilis, from Glasgow and 21 year old Robyn Lang, from Airdrie in North Lanarkshire] have the opportunity of a lifetime; to work alongside Old Navy's designers on the brands' print collection for Spring/Summer 2017.

Justin Newlin, Senior Creative Recruiter at Old Navy, said, “The School of Textiles and Design presented a very strong group of students. It was a tough decision and there is a lot of talent there.”

Speaking about the announcement Beth said, “I was so happy when I was shortlisted for Old Navy's internship programme, but to actually be chosen for this amazing opportunity is incredible!”

Robyn said, “You never believe an amazing thing like this will happen to you. The shock hasn't settled in yet but I can't wait and am so excited to have this opportunity.”
