Heriot-Watt has risen seventeen places for overall satisfaction in the UK National Student Survey (NSS) rankings, bringing us to 28th place in the UK and joint third in Scotland, with St Andrews.  Nearly nine out of ten (89%) of Heriot-Watt final year full time degree students are satisfied overall with their experience.

These are great figures, placing us right in the top cohort for key subjects.

At subject area level Heriot-Watt ranked in the top ten UK universities for five subjects, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Marketing and Building, based on overall satisfaction score and/or average percentage agree. Under the same criteria we are also first in Scotland for Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Languages, Other Linguistics, Marketing, Design Studies and Building and first or second in Scotland for 11 of our 21 subjects.

Professor Julian Jones, Acting Principal, said, “These are great figures, placing us right in the top cohort for key subjects at UK and Scottish level.

“These figures are no accident, but the result of tremendous effort and input by colleagues around the University and we are delighted that, through the NSS, our students appreciate the difference these efforts make to the student experience.”
