Heriot-Watt University’s graduate fashion show goes convertible, tactile and recyclable this year, including fashion made from fabric produced from bananas and waste plastic.
Abbotsford House, the Borders home of Sir Walter Scott, will once again be the venue for the Graduate Fashion Show which takes place on Friday 5 June at 7.30pm.
The programme features Menswear and Womenswear collections created by the University’s BA Fashion, BA Design for Textiles, and BSc Fashion Technology students.
The show will include:
- A collection of sustainable garments including fabrics produced from bananas and waste plastic material
- A collection of fully convertible garments – jackets that turn into trousers and skirts that turn into tops
- A collection showcasing the heritage of traditional men’s Scottish dress recontextualised for today’s urban warrior
- A collection exploring the sensation of going blind with garments laser cut with braille messages
