LIYSF 2015 which attracted an audience of nearly 500 students from 65 countries, focused this year on the global endeavour of science, calling for international collaboration and discussing the global issues that face the world today.

Professor Maroto-Valer’s talk entitled ‘The Energy Trilemma’ looked at the inextricable link between energy, water and food and the formidable triple challenge faced by the global community to develop technologies that can address energy security, energy equity, and environmental sustainability.

Commenting on her participation, Professor Maroto-Valer said: “It was a privilege to speak at such a high profile and well attended event which is aimed at students of science, the next generation of scientific leaders, innovators and pioneers.

"The forum is an excellent opportunity for these young people to gain knowledge and expertise from leaders in the field as well as from their own peers at what is an important stage in their educational development.”
