Catriona McAllister has been announced as the new CEO of Oriam, previously the National Performance Centre for Sport.
Catriona has played a pivotal role throughout the Oriam project to date and I believe that we have the ideal person taking on the Chief Executive position.
Catriona has been at Heriot-Watt for eight years as Deputy Director and then Director of Sport and Exercise, and her existing responsibilities will be incorporated into her new role.
Malcolm Deans, Director of Campus Services, said, “I am delighted that Catriona McAllister has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer.
“Catriona has played a pivotal role throughout the Oriam project to date and I believe that we have the ideal person taking on the Chief Executive position and that she will ensure that the exciting vision for sport in Scotland and student sport at Heriot-Watt is delivered.”
Catriona McAllister said, “It has been a very challenging and exciting few years, winning the bid for National Performance Centre for Sport and then getting Oriam to its current stage of development, with building works underway.
“I am delighted that as CEO of Oriam I will be continuing to work with all of the team in seeing the building project to completion and then running Oriam in support of Scotland’s top sports men and women, as well as continuing to develop sport and physical activity opportunities for staff, students and the community.”
