Professor Beatrice Pelloni has been appointed as Head of the School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences (MACS) at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.

Professor Pelloni Joins the University from the University of Reading, where she has been co-Director of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training Mathematics of Planet Earth since 2014. She was previously Head of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.

She studied for her BA in Mathematics at the University of Rome, and then her MPhil and PhD in Mathematics at Yale University.

Professor Pelloni will take up her new position in spring 2016.
