The University has five subjects ranked in the UK top ten in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016:

Mechanical Engineering
General engineering
We are also top in Scotland in Building, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Town and Country Planning and Landscape, and in the top three in Scotland for Art and Design, General Engineering and German.
The University ranks in the top twenty in the UK for graduate salaries, and fourth in Scotland.
Overall Heriot-Watt has risen to equal 38th position in the UK in this table and is ranked fifth in Scotland.
