Consultancy and research MoU signed at Heriot-Watt's Dubai Campus

Heriot-Watt’s School of Management and Languages in Dubai recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Abu Dhabi National Tanker Co (ADNATCO) and National Gas Shipping Company (NGSCO).

The agreement, which was signed by Professor Ammar Kaka, Vice-Principal and Head of the Dubai Campus, and Dr. Ali O. Al-Yabhouni, Chief Executive Officer of ADNATCO & NGSCO, will see Heriot-Watt’s School of Management and Languages Dubai deliver training, consultancy and research-based services tailored to the needs of ADNTCO and NGSCO. Heriot-Watt students will also be given the opportunity to take part in internships at ADNTCO and NGSCO and gain access to a rich pool of data which can enhance their research capabilities.

Mutually beneficial partnerships

“We’re constantly on the lookout for mutually beneficial partnerships that are able to support our students in their ongoing quest for knowledge,” said Professor Kaka. “I have no doubt that students will find the internships on offer as well as the additional access to data extremely useful, and I’m pleased that together with ADNTCO and NGSCO we are able to offer them this opportunity.”

Established in 1975 for the transportation of petroleum products, Abu Dhabi National Tanker Co is a wholly owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), the company is involved in the marine transportation of petroleum products and the bulk transportation of Sulphur. The National Gas Shipping Company was formed in December 1993 to transport liquefied natural gas on behalf of Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (ADGAS).
