Heriot-Watt has risen six places in the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2014.
The survey focuses primarily on social aspects and marginally on services and academic elements, with respondents, who are members of YouthSight's student panel (recruited via UCAS), surveyed during the 2012/13 academic year.
Heriot-Watt has risen six places from 30th in the UK last year to joint 24th with Glasgow, out of 111 institutions. The University has also risen to joint third out of 13 institutions in Scotland, from sixth last year, behind Dundee and St Andrews, and are one of only four Scottish institutions who have improved their overall rankings on last year.
Top 10 in the UK
The University was ranked in the top 10 in the UK for:
- Fair Workload (5th)
- Good Industry Connections (8th)
- Personal Requirements Catered For (8th)
- Well Structured Courses (10th).
There were also strong increases in the rankings for Heriot-Watt for Centralised/Convenient Facilities (up 28 to 38th) and Good Accommodation (up 23 to 41st).
