Simon Singh and Simpsons at Edinburgh Science Festival

Heriot-Watt University helped bring Simon Singh's 'The Simpsons and Their Mathematical Secrets' lecture to a sell-out crowd in Summerhall's Dissection Room for Edinburgh International Science Festival.

The lecture, sponsored by Heriot-Watt, was a repeat of Simon Singh's highly successful appearance to deliver the talk at Heriot-Watt's Edinburgh Campus last year. The best-selling author and broadcaster explored how the mathematically gifted writers of the Simpsons cartoon smuggled mathematical concepts into their storylines.

The lecture was introduced by Professor Gavin Gibson of Heriot-Watt's School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences.
