SBE PhD student invited to present research on lighting and health

Amanda Nioi, a PhD student within the Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Building Design at the School of the Built Environment, has successfully received financial awards to attend and present her research at two different conferences this year.

Amanda's research explores the impact of lighting - natural and artificial - on human health and wellbeing. Her research is being carried out as part of an EPSRC funded PhD supervised by Dr Jenny Roe and Dr Alan Gow.

Amanda has been awarded $1500 to travel to and attend the IES Light + Behaviour Research Symposium in Cleveland, USA, in April as well as €300 to travel to Romania to present at a Young Researchers Workshop for the International Association People-Environment studies (IAPS).
