PhD student Rosario Porrazzo, from the Institute of Mechanical, Process and Energy Engineering , won a poster competition at the 36th Annual General Meeting of the International Fine Particle Research Institute (IFPRI) which was held in Edinburgh on 22-26 June 2014.
The IFPRI was founded in 1979 to meet the research challenges in the field of particle technology. The institute is constituted by an international consortium of companies that pool resources to fund industrially relevant research in areas of particle technology. Only invited researchers can attend the IFPRI meetings and participation is very limited thus prestigious.
Rosario's work, under the supervision of Professor Raffaella Ocone, is focused on the application of chemical looping technology to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and it is sponsored by the EPSRC.
