Finlay Young, a 4th year Chemical Engineering student, won a bronze medal at the British National Team Pursuit Cycling Championship.
It means a lot to me as I've never had a British medal. It'll go well with my Scottish bronze medal, which I won in August at the Scottish Criterium Championships...
Finlay, who is a Heriot-Watt University Sports Scholar, took part in the competition on Wednesday 24 October at the Manchester Velodrome National Cycling Centre.
He said of his achievement, "It means a lot to me as I've never had a British medal. It'll go well with my Scottish bronze medal, which I won in August at the Scottish Criterium Championships held in Stirling town centre."
Finlay's team, the Rigmar Racers, qualified 3rd with a 4:21 for 4km - setting a new Scottish record. They then backed this up with a 4:19 in the bronze medal ride off.
