Andrew Eastwell, Chief Executive of BSRIA Ltd, the membership organisation that represents the building services industry, has been appointed Honorary Professor in the School of the Built Environment.
Having had a long and distinguished career with BSRIA Ltd, rising to CEO in 1998, he is well known in the UK and worldwide and will bring a wide range of industrial experience and knowledge to support of the School's recently established Royal Academy of Engineering Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Building Design. His appointment will strengthen the existing links between the School and BSRIA Ltd in research and knowledge exchange.
Professor Phil Banfill of the Centre of Excellence said, "Low carbon technologies and building services engineering are core to the Centre of Excellence and BSRIA Ltd's members are at the forefront of developments in this important area. Andrew Eastwell's experience and his range of contacts will be a valuable resource for dissemination and industrial/policy engagement. Our current range of Architectural Engineering courses are the fruit of an interest and expertise built up over 30 years and our association with BSRIA Ltd dates back over most of that time."
