Professor David Lane, from the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences, has been elected Director of euRobotics aisbl and Chair of the UK Industry Lead Special Interest Group in Robotics and Autonomous Systems.
Eurobotics aisbl (Association Internationale Sans But Lucratif) is a non-profit association for all stakeholders in European robotics. One of the objectives of the association is to collaborate with the European Commission to develop and implement a strategy and a roadmap for research, technological development and innovation in robotics, in view of the launch of the next framework program Horizon 2020.
The UK Industry Lead Special Interest Group in Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS) has been established to advise UK Government on strategy and business case building cross sector RAS innovation pipeline.
