Heriot-Watt students and sports scholars had success at various Swimming Championships over the last weeks.
Craig McNally
Accountancy student, Craig McNally broke the Scottish 200m backstroke record by finishing sixth with a time of 1:55.67 at the World Championships in Barcelona on Friday 2 August.
Kathryn Johnstone
Kathryn Johnstone, a Sport and Exercise student, came first in 50m and 100m breaststroke, and second in the 200m breaststroke at the British ASA Championships in Sheffield from 30 July to 4 August 2013.
Kathryn said, "Being the last meet of the season made this a tough competition; however I performed well finishing with 2 gold medals and a silver medal along with a personal best time in the 200m."
Kathryn and Craig are amongst the 150 athletes selected to receive tailored support this academic year through the Winning Students scholarship programme.
