Success for sports scholar

Heriot-Watt student, Ewan Dyer came second in the final of the 400m hurdles at the British Under 20 Athletic Championships.

The event was held in Bedford on the 14 and 15 June. Ewan achieved his position in 52.58 seconds, a personal best.

Ewan said, "The time I ran was narrowly outside the qualifying time for the U20 European Championships by 0.28secs. However it was my first medal at a British Championships and to run a Personal Best I couldn't have asked for much more."

He now has another race before the 30 June where he is aiming to reach the Euoprean Qualifying standard.

Ewan is a Heriot-Watt sports scholar, and a first year Accountancy and Finance student.
