A Heriot-Watt student has won three gold medals in international and national judo competitions.
Stephanie Inglis, a first year student, won gold medals in the Barcelona International, the English Open and a British Universities and Colleges Sport event. The competitions took place during February and March this year.
Stephanie, who studies MSc International Business Management with HRM, said: "Winning these three competitions has helped give my confidence a boost and will help me to plan the rest of my year more efficiently. My aim now is to compete in the World Universities competition and to pursue competitions that will allow me to qualify for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Stephanie is a Heriot-Watt Sports Scholar. She says of the scheme: "The financial support that is provided has helped with my expenses on trips, as a lot of my competitions I have to part-fund or self-fund. Also, I had academic flexibility support as my competition in Barcelona clashed with a mid-term exam."
