Kathryn Johnstone, a third year BSc Sport and Exercise student, has won a bronze medal at an international swimming competition.
The British Gas International Meet took place in Leeds from 7th to 10th March.
Kathryn won a bronze medal in the 50 metre breaststroke event. She also came 6th in the 100 metres and seventh in the 200 metres events.
She said "After a tough week of racing Olympic champions, it was nice to get a medal on the final day of racing. My times were also an improvement from BUCS two weeks ago so everything is moving in the right direction."
Kathryn is a Heriot-Watt sports scholar. She said of the scheme, "Without its support I would majorly struggle to not only fund my sport but to juggle both university and swimming."
Kathryn's next goal is to make the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow next year.
