Staff take part in European Conference

A large group of researchers from Heriot-Watt University's School of Life Sciences participated at the recent Conference of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) which took place in Glasgow, 12-16 May.

There were overall 15 participants from Heriot-Watt, from academics (Professor Teresa Fernandes, Drs Mark Hartl and Ted Henry) to post-doctoral researchers and PhD students.

While students presented posters (with exception of Virginia Echevarria-Bravo who presented a talk), other staff presented oral presentations and chaired sessions.

The Conference which was chaired by Professor Teresa Fernandes, attracted just under 2000 participants from all over the world, and had a lively programme of 10 parallel sessions, daily, with additional poster sessions.

This was an excellent opportunity to show case the great research taking place in this area at Heriot-Watt and the feedback has been fantastic.
