Professor Andrew Cairns to present his work in United States

Professor Andrew Cairns commenced a research project early in 2013 into the reliability of national population and mortality data following significant revisions to UK population estimates. His forensic approach to analysis of national population data has revealed there are still significant potential errors in both current and historical data.

This work has already generated interest beyond the confines of the UK and has led to invitations to present his work to the United States Social Security Administration in Baltimore, the United Nations Population Directorate in New York and Prudential Retirement, also in New York, in December.

Professor Cairns is renowned for his research in financial modelling, longevity risk and risk management and he is Director of the Actuarial Research Centre
