The development is the most significant addition to teaching and learning space at the Campus for over twenty years and is the result of feedback received from students requesting high quality teaching space at the heart of the Campus.

The new facilities give students access to two newly refurbished lecture theatres, one of which accommodates more than 500 people. Students will also benefit from two group study rooms and a coffee area.

Created in response to student feedback

This massive addition to core teaching and learning space is a great example of the positive outcomes that come through joint working between the University and the Student Union.
Professor John Sawkins, Deputy Principal Learning and Teaching

Professor John Sawkins, Deputy Principal Learning and Teaching, said, "This massive addition to core teaching and learning space is a great example of the positive outcomes that come through joint working between the University and the Student Union. I would like to thank the elected representatives of the student body, the Student Union President and other sabbatical and non-sabbatical officers, who helped make this possible."

Brittany Brown, the President of Heriot-Watt Student Union, said "The development of this new learning and teaching space is fantastic news for our students here at the Edinburgh Campus. Students have consistently requested additional study space and as elected officers, we have worked incredibly hard with the University to make this a reality. We hope our students will enjoy the new space when we welcome them back for the start of semester next week and look forward to working with the University on similar projects, ensuring the student experience here at Heriot-Watt is second to none."
