Moscow Graduations

Heriot-Watt's Moscow Graduations took place on 18 October in the splendid surroundings of the British Ambassadors Residence in the heart of the city. The Congregation for the conferment of degrees was made up of students who were graduating from the Heriot-Watt University Master of Science courses in Petroleum Engineering and Reservoir Evaluation and Management.

Vice-Principal Julian Jones conferred the degrees to around 70 students in the presence of Her Britannic Majesty's Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Mr Tim Barrow CMG LVO MBE, in what was the eleventh Heriot-Watt graduation ceremony to be held in the capital of the Russian Federation.

Also attending the ceremony were representatives from the Russian Oil and Gas Industry, along with representatives from companies such as TNK-BP, Sibneft, Baker Hughes, Schlumberger, Shell, Rosneft,, Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz, SamaraNIPIneft, TomskNIPIneft, NYAGAN. Academic staff from Tomsk Polytechnic University and staff from Heriot-Watt's Institute of Petroleum Engineering were also there to see the graduands receive their degrees.
