Heriot-Watt University is top in Scotland in over half its subjects in the 2013 National Student Survey

Heriot-Watt University has come top in Scotland for 11 out of its 18 subjects in the 2013 National Student Survey (NSS) and top in the UK for two.

Chemical Engineering at Heriot-Watt is ranked top in the UK for the fourth year running, and Chemistry climbed from second place last year to first this year.    

Accounting, Economics, Marketing, European Languages, Building, Civil Engineering and Planning are also ranked in the top ten UK-wide.

The University is ranked first in Scotland for Biology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, European Languages, Civil Engineering, Planning and Maths & Statistics.

With four out of five of its students responding to the survey, Heriot-Watt has the highest response rate of any Scottish university. Of those who responded nine out of ten students said they were satisfied overall with experience at Heriot-Watt, placing it eleventh out of 121 universities in the UK and second in Scotland.
