Heriot-Watt rises in '100 under 50' World University Ranking

Heriot-Watt has risen nine places, to 63rd from 72nd, in the new Times Higher '100 under 50' World University Ranking, focused on institutions around the world which are aged 50 years or under.

This is the largest rise of any of the five UK universities which rose in the rankings, and means Heriot-Watt is ranked 10th in the UK out of 18 institutions and 2nd in Scotland, behind Stirling, and overtaking Strathclyde.

Heriot-Watt is also ranked 9th in the world and 3rd in the UK (behind Essex and Brunel) for International Mix, a category looking at diversity on campus and how much each university's academics collaborate with international colleagues on research projects.
