Heather Cheung, a Design for Textiles graduate from June 2013, has been chosen by Texprint to show her designs in Paris at Indigo, Europe's leading textile design exhibition in September 2013.
Texprint is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to nurturing the best British-trained graduates in textile design.
Each year Texprint coordinates with the UK's textile design courses to find the best new graduate textile designers. Over 200 candidates are invited for a constructive interview with a panel of industry experts to give guidance to all and ultimately choose the 24 who will go forward into the programme.
Texprint gives these selected designers a high-profile launch pad into the fashion and textile industry, introducing them to the market through presentations at major international events.
Heather and her fellow designers are currently exhibiting their work at Textprint London, a preview presentation for press and Texprint sponsors. As part of the event, the designers will be judged for special awards for Body, Space, Pattern and Colour by a panel of industry experts. Heather has been shortlisted to the final three for the Space prize.
Following the events in London, the 24 designers will show their collections in Paris at Indigo/Première Vision in September 17-19 2013, where the winners of the four special prizes will be announced.
