The Duke of Gloucester KG GCVO has officially opened Heriot-Watt University's new residences building at the Scottish Borders Campus.
The new £12m, 218 bed space development was part of a £26m University residences development including new residences at the University's Edinburgh Campus.
Professor Steve Chapman, Principal of Heriot-Watt University, said, "These new residences, the latest phase of the University's dynamic programme of investment to upgrade its estate, are a major improvement to student residences provision. They offer our students modern, attractive and welcoming accommodation with generous space and of a standard which is at the leading edge of market expectations."
The new residences received an €˜excellent' rating for environmental performance under the BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method).
