Dr Edward Owens gave an invited presentation on the ORIGIN research project to Community Energy Scotland's annual conference in Glasgow on 5 November.
ORIGIN Project
The conference was attended by over 200 delegates from as far away as Prince Edward Island in Canada and ORIGIN attracted a lot of attention from the floor. The project has now entered its second year and the energy monitoring and control system has been installed in over 120 buildings in the three participating communities in Portugal, Italy and Scotland.
The research team intend to demonstrate a significant increase in the local uptake of embedded electrical generation through the intelligent orchestration of energy demand to better synchronise with the availability of the three communities' renewables supply.
