Scottish Graduate of the Year
Heriot-Watt graduate, Joanne McGillivary, was named Scottish Graduate of the Year at the Scottish Fashion Awards which took place on Monday 11 June.
The event is Scotland's most high-profile celebration of fashion and style and recognises Scottish designers who have made a significant contribution to the industry.

Joanne, who is from East Kilbride, was presented with the award at a ceremony in the Clyde Auditorium, Glasgow. David Black, another Heriot-Watt graduate who is from Glasgow, was also presented with a highly commended certificate on the night. Both David and Joanne are students on the Fashion Design for Industry degree course. Six of the eight nominees in the Scottish graduate of the Year category were Heriot-Watt students.
Mark Timmins, course director of Fashion Design for Industry, in the School of Textiles and Design said "I am very proud of the success of the School of Textiles and Design at the awards. Both our current graduates and successful graduate entrepreneurs are now starting to make a real impact on the Scottish fashion scene"
Heriot-Watt Honorary Graduate, Colin McDowell also received the Fashion Ambassador award.
