Professor Angus Macdonald
Professor Angus Macdonald, Head of Actuarial Mathematics & Statistics in the School of Mathematical & Computer Sciences, is to be awarded the prestigious Finlaison Medal by the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries.
The award reflects Angus's substantial international reputation in research and his service to the UK actuarial profession over the last 25 years.
This is the first award of a Finlaison medal since the Faculty of Actuaries and Institute of Actuaries merged to become the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries.
Angus said: "This is a great honour, and I am very aware that it owes a great deal to the international and professional renown of the whole department."
