Dr Alan Forster of the School of the Built Environment has won the prestigious Sir Edmund Happold Senior Visiting Research Fellowship at the University of Bath.
The Fellowship is in the Department of Architecture & Civil Engineering. Dr Forster is a lecturer in building conservation and construction technology and the course leader for the MSc in Building Conservation (Technology and Management) at Heriot-Watt University.

Ted Happold played a major part in moulding the joint Department of Architecture & Civil Engineering at the University of Bath, through inspiring those around him to embrace the power of collaboration. The fellowship will enable collaboration in the Innovative Construction Materials and Low Carbon / Energy Materials, and Technology Research team.
The award is for a period of eight weeks between July and September 2011, inclusive, in residence in Bath. The Fellowship is awarded to an applicant who will enable collaborative research at a fundamental level, leading to a long-term relationship between the two institutions.
