Jamie wins gold for Great Britain

Heriot-Watt University student Jamie Bowie was part of the Great Britain team that won gold in the 4x400m relay at the European Under 23 Championships.

Jamie ran the third leg of the relay with a split time of 45.33, which is not only his fastest relay split, but also  the fastest in the Great Britain team and third fastest overall.  The race at the European Championships is available to watch  on YouTube.

It comes as Jamie prepares to run in the UK Senior Championships this weekend.

Team  Great Britain won a record number of medals at the European Championships, 19 in total, to come second in the medal table behind Russia.

Jamie grauated from Heriot-Watt University this summer, having  studied International Management & Languages at the School of Management & Languages.
