Heriot-Watt launches Carbon Management masters programme

A new postgraduate programme focused on carbon management for built environment professionals was launched by Sarah Boyack, Edinburgh Central MSP and Scottish Labour's Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Environment and Climate Change. Sarah, herself a graduate from Heriot-Watt University with a Diploma in Town and Country Planning, welcomed the development of this new programme. Speaking to an audience of academics, industry representatives and prospective students, she stressed the need for graduates with the skills to reduce built environment carbon emissions, to improve sustainability and to adapt to a changing climate.

The programme will be offered from September 2011 and can be studied full-time, part-time as well as through distance learning.
