Simon Jersey is a well-known European corporate clothing and uniform supplier, who are this year celebrating 40 years of expertise in the industry.

The brief given to the students was to present day and evening designs for restaurant staff at the prestigious Carters Restaurant in Dubai. Students were also required to prepare a written rationale as to why they chose their particular design direction, explaining fabric selections/swatches, colour and style choices.

Students needed to design and develop 12 uniforms for day and evening wear respectively, as well as fabric and mood boards explaining the direction of the collections. They were then invited to an exclusive showcase of hospitality work wear taking place at The Hotel Show 2011 where their own designs were on exhibit.

Vanessa Northway, Academic Head for the School of Textiles & Design at the Dubai Campus reported: "The design process and implementation into strong illustration & presentation by our first year students reflects their knowledge and high standard of industrial skills gained.
