Dr Fiona Grant, Director of Studies for Construction Management & Surveying in the School of the Built Environment, has become the Vice-Chair of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Scotland (RICS) 2011/2012.
This high profile position recognises the work Dr Grant has undertaken with the institution over many years. The School of the Built Environment at Heriot-Watt University has a long and established relationship with the RICS as it accredits several undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and the involvement of academic staff at this level is a key to continuing these links.
Fiona says she is delighted to hold this post and is looking forward to working with the 2011/12 RICS Scotland Chairman, Mr Keith Petrie over the next 12 months.
The objective for RICS over the next two years is to raise the profile of academia, the importance of links to industry and encouraging student membership and graduate APC completion.
