David Hunter appointed as Honorary Professor of Real Estate

David Hunter, Managing Director of Hunter Advisers, has been appointed Honorary Professor in Heriot-Watt University's Institute for Housing, Urban and Real Estate Research.

David Hunter, long recognised as a creative and high performing fund manager, was the Managing Director of Aberdeen Asset Management's property fund business until 2004, and is now a property consultant with non-executive roles in the UK and overseas.

Colin Jones, Professor of Estate Management at Heriot-Watt commented: "We are delighted that David has accepted this appointment. He is a recognised industry leader, based in Scotland but with global experience. We will benefit from access to his commercial and perceptive approach to UK and overseas real estate markets and we have a number of major ongoing and proposed pieces of research to which I know he will contribute positively."

David Hunter said: "I have always been a strong believer in the role of research in delivering optimum property performance, and I am honoured to take up this position. One of my first challenges will be to work with Colin and his colleagues in arranging and hosting the 2012 European Real Estate Society Conference next June. This is a highly prestigious event which brings together real estate researchers from around the world.

"In addition I look forward to sharing my business experience with Heriot-Watt students and academics".
