Heriot-Watt University's Students' Association reached the silver standard at this year's Sound Environmental Impact Awards. The awards, which are organised by the NUS, seeks to encourage, nurture, reward and celebrate good environmental practice in students' unions.
A record 83 student unions took part in this year's scheme. Heriot-Watt was awarded the silver standard, with a score improvement from 300 last year to over 600 this year.
Heriot-Watt Student's Association President, Simon Eltringham said: "We are extremely pleased to see the excellent work of our Students and staff on environmental and ethical issues being recognised nationally. This award represents a huge improvement on our performance from last year and the Students Association are committed to developing this over the coming years."
