Moving in real time worlds

A team from Heriot-Watt University finished joint third in the Real Time Worlds computer programming competition held recently at Abertay University.

There were 21 teams, each with five members, taking part in the event with seven qualifying for the final round.

A total of three teams from Heriot-Watt University entered the qualification round with two making it through to the next stage up against five other teams from different universities.

The final competition day consisted of five hours of programming involving challenging questions which required efficient and precise answers. Each team had only one computer between five students so time management and teamwork was essential.

The Heriot-Watt University team that finished a creditable third was made up of the following members:

  • Drew Forster (4th year MEng Software Eng)
  • Neil Suttie (4th year Comp Sci)
  • Ulysse Vaussy (4th year Comp Sci)
