The one-day, invitation-only event, which was organised by UK Trade and Investment, brought together UK and Chinese ministers, top executive level professionals and leading academics.

The Forum provided an exclusive platform for leaders from the UK and Chinese Communications industries/academia to discuss low energy solutions to the surge in energy consumption that has followed growth in the telecommunications industry.

The Forum started with keynotes delivered by Mark Prisk MP, the UK Minister for Business and Enterprise, and Xiaoming Zhou, Economic & Commercial Minister Counsellor from the Chinese Embassy in the UK, followed by three panels, including the Science & Energy Panel organised by the UC4G project to discuss efficient energy use strategies and solutions.

The closing reception was held at the Shanghai 2010 World Expo landmark UK Pavilion.
