Rugby is not often associated with fancy dress but this was tackled by four Heriot-Watt University students at the recent Melrose Sevens.
The students from the School of Textiles joined forces with a friend from Glasgow University to win the £300 prize for the best-dressed superhero to attend the famous rugby event.
Stephanie Isaacs, Katie Barr, Kirsten Quick, Julie Beattie, and Cathy Myles (or the Super Noisettes) turned up in super heroine costumes made from tablecloths, which they had designed and made late into the previous night.
They were presented with their prize by three serving solders from 1 and 6 Scots, the Royal Regiment of Scotland. The 127th Gibraltar Asset Management Melrose Sevens acknowledged the bravery and sacrifice of our armed forces and raised money for Poppyscotland.
