A competition to redesign the traditional denim jacket has been won by a student from Heriot-Watt University.
Vanessa Plenderleith studying Fashion Design for Industry at the Borders campus features in the latest edition of Company High Street Edit magazine along with three other joint winners from different fashion colleges.
Vanessa says it was an amazing experience. "I had to send off a small sketch and a blurb about what I would do to redesign the jacket.
"Once I had been told I was one of the four winners Company magazine posted me a denim jacket, which I had to redesign according to my sketch. I was meant to go down to London for the photo shoot and style the outfit with the jacket but unfortunately the shoot was cancelled twice because of the snow.
"In the end I had to post the jacket down to London for them to do the shoot without me there, which was disappointing but I think that the photos turned out great. It was a really exciting thing to be involved in."
