Heriot Watt Fashion Communication students India Gill and Camille Lemoine from the School of Textiles and Design scooped two major awards at the Graduate Fashion Week Awards Ceremony held recently in the prestigious Samsung KX building in London.

Graduate Fashion Week is the worlds largest showcase of fashion industry talent, promoting the work of graduating students from over 80 UK and International Universities.

Camille won the Fashion Photography Award for her work on sustainability and self sufficiency and India won the Fashion Publication Award for her work on multiraciality.

Both students were delighted with their success against such strong competition and the recognition that their work received from leading industry judges.

India commented: “Winning an award at Graduate Fashion Week has been my dream since starting University.  The award inspires me to continue creating platforms for important socio-political issues like multiracial identity. It allows me to recognise my own niche and worth within the fashion industry and I will continue to explore that throughout my future career”.

Camille added: ‘’Winning the Fashion Photography award at Graduate Fashion Week means a lot to me! It has really given me the confidence to pursue a career in fashion photography and to trust my instincts moving forward.’’

Camille's Award winning photography was further showcased across 36 giant screens on the Flannels store on Oxford Street in the heart of London's West End.
