He is an avid advocator for value engineering and lean design with robust risk mitigations. His research areas of  interest includes project soft factors and project risks management .


Patrick Quek holds a Master in Project Management  , B.Sc.( Hons) in Civil Engineering ( Strathclyde ) and  currently pursuing his PhD . He is a certified Professional Engineer (BEM) and ASEAN Professional Engineers (AFEO). In addition he is a certified Engineering Projects Manager, HAZOP Leader and Tripod Beta HSSE Incident Investigator with the World's Top-3 International Oil and Gas Companies.

He possesses over 30 years of extensive and diversified industry experiences in the execution of complex Oil & Gas facilities construction projects with mega investment capex (Greenfield, Brownfield and Rejuvenation natures) for Upstream, Downstream and  Integrated Assets at Onshore and Offshore Deep and Shallow-water sites. He was based in a number of South East Asia countries with multi-national Oil & Gas Companies and was assigned with various projects engineering and leadership roles to deliver a spectrum of project KPIs from the business development feasibility  phase till 'project to production' handover phase inculcating Front End Engineering Design, Procurement & Contracts Strategies, Construction, Planning, Control and Risk/ Assurances,  Land/Sea/Air Logistics, HSSE, De-commissioning, Commissioning and Production Start-up. He has nurtured reasonably strong relationship and contacts with local state-owned Oil and Gas companies, Contractors, Consultants, Third Parties Accreditation/Certification Authorities, Professional Organizations/Societies/Boards, Local Authorities and Communities in the respective countries.
