Jaysern Pang Jia Yew
Roles and responsibilities
Jaysern Pang Jia Yew is an Assistant Professor with the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences.
His research and industrial projects are mainly into energy management, sustainable energy development, power electronics control and green technology. Armed with extensive industry exposure, Jaysern's scholarly efforts are devoted to the areas of Electromagnetic Fields, Power System, High Voltage Engineering and Generation, Transmission and Distributions
Jaysern Pang Jia Yew earned his Bachelor Engineering (Hons) Degree in Electrical Power Engineering from University Tenaga National, Malaysia in 2003 and a Master Degree in High Power Radio Frequency Engineering and Science from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK, in 2007 under University College Tunku Abdul Rahman's scholarship. Currently he is pursuing his Ph.D in electrical engineering.
He has worked as an electrical engineer for 2 years prior to his employment as Programme Leader in Electronics division at University College Tunku Abdul Rahman (UCTAR) and as a former lecturer for the Electrical Division at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU). He is experienced in curriculum development, accreditation and branding activities for the electrical and electronics programme. Jaysern is actively involved in industrial project collaboration with local companies such as Everly Group ,YTL– ERL ,Top Glove and Cathodway.
He is the President of Young MINDS Malaysia, a member of IET(UK) (MIET), a Graduate member of IEM (Institute Engineer Malaysia) and Malaysian Oil Scientists' and Technologists' Association (MOSTA). He also takes part in different international technical conferences as a technical programme committee, paper reviewer and registration chair. He is the recipient of the 2016 Best Green Invention Award from 27th International Invention & Innovation Exhibition Malaysia.
