Faisal Bin Zainal Abidin
Roles and responsibilities
Faisal Bin Zainal Abidin is Assistant Professor with the School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society.
Faisal received his Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Petronas in 2008. Before joining Heriot-Watt University Malaysia, he has been teaching Production Technology and Well Stimulation Techniques subjects. He has also been working in the oil and Gas industry for 5 years as a completion engineer with Halliburton where he was responsible to coordinate and develop engineer in line on completion and sand control service tools on daily basis. He has completed more than 30 offshore jobs.
In August 2011 he was awarded with an MVP (Maximizing Value-Added Performance Award) in recognition of excellent job execution on ExxonMobil Frac Pack jobs for Wells of Seligi H. This award recognises outstanding achievement of individuals or teams that benefit the company and its shareholders and promoting the positive reinforcement of good employee efforts.
