Calvin Chok holds a PhD in chemical engineering with grade A and Chancellor Award from Curtin University. Prior to that, he earned his 1st class Honours degree in chemical engineering from Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP).

He started his career with Honeywell Engineering as a trainee engineer in 2001. He worked with Linde Malaysia, as a process engineer, and then later at Curtin University as an associate lecturer. He later moved on to UTP as a research fellow, and then to UCSI University as an adjunct assistant professor. He was also a General Manager of Technology at Platinum Energy, and a Director of Technology at Scomi Platinum.

He has close to 15 years of academic experience as well as R&D. He designs, builds and operates various chemical plants/processes e.g. renewable diesel/biodiesel, syngas/hydrogen production, drilling fluids, stimulations and production chemicals, applications of hydrodynamic and acoustic cavitation technology for process intensification, nanomaterial production, exfoliation and dispersion, fluidized beds, and applications of electrochemical technology for water treatment, EOR and disinfection. He has 3 patent applications with MYIPO on process intensification and nanomaterial productions. He is one of the expert panels for RE roadmap for MOSTI and UTP.
