Ready to support you

Look after yourselves, and one another. We know just how challenging this year has been and are here to help you settle into a new year and navigate a post-coronavirus world, whatever that may look like. Looking after your mental health and wellbeing has never been so vital, and it’s important to speak to someone and get support if you are feeling anxious. All services are available online.
Our Counsellors, Disability Advisors and Student experience team continue to support you with one-to-one appointments and group sessions: Sessions will be conducted online. For more details, see our Health and Wellbeing page.
Get in touch with our Student Success Advisor from the start of the semester as they will be able to assist you to adapt into the semester smoothly. Besides that, a group of senior buddy will be there as well to welcome you when you kick start your semester.
Togetherall (formerly Big White Wall) is a 24/7, anonymous mental health and wellbeing support site which is free for all Heriot-Watt students. It’s a safe space where you can talk about your thoughts and feelings, as well as learn skills and techniques to improve and manage your mental health.
Res Life team: Students living on our campus accommodation are also welcomed to come for a chat with a member of the friendly and approachable Res life team, where we have Mental Health First Aiders and team members trained in 'Safe talk' and they are always happy to talk.
