Study spaces at the Orkney campus

The Orkney campus Library has perhaps the best view from any of our campus locations, with panoramic views onto the harbour of Stromness and Scapa Flow!

Students may use the campus facilities during the hours of 9am to 6pm and must book a study space through Resource Booker

Networked PCs give access to University-licensed software, databases and journals and other online resources. Wireless access is also available.

The library has individual study spaces as well as a small area for socially distanced group work with comfortable low level seating.

A large Xerox printer is located on the ground floor for copying, scanning and printing. There is an onsite IT technician that is available to provide IT support where required.

Room bookings

There is a Board Room, a Teaching & Collaborative space and small meeting room that can be booked if further meeting space is required. Please contact Claire Mullins to make a booking.

IT assistance is available from our on campus IT specialist and also through the University’s central IT Help services. See Contact/visit us for details.

Stromness has recently benefited from the newly built Stromness public library, located at Warehouse Buildings adjacent to the pier. Visit the Stromness Library Warehouse Buildings webpages for details of facilities (including room bookings and charges) and opening hours.
