Dr. Nilakshi has published several research papers in international and local conferences and in peer reviewed and indexed journals. She has also published two books and one book chapter. Dr. Nilakshi has won the best paper award for her research publications at several international conferences. She was an Associate Editor/member of Editorial board of Sri Lankan Journal of Management, Co-Editor of Vidyodaya Journal of Management and Editor of Sri Lankan Journal of Service Management, the Co-chairperson of 10th International Conference on Business Management (ICBM) 2013 and PIMARC (2019 & 2021). She is also an executive committee member in the Sri Lankan Institute of Service Management. Dr. Nilakshi has also collaborated with the Asian Institute of Productivity and Quality, Tokyo, Japan, as the ‘National Coordinator’ for Managing Innovations for SMEs in Sri Lanka.

Background
Dr. Nilakshi is an Associate Professor in Operations Management. She mainly delivers Operations Management and Project Management courses for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Dr. Nilakshi was the program director for MSc Operations Management, MSc in Strategic Project Management, and the coordinator of the IMIM program when she was at Edinburgh Business School's Dubai Campus. Dr. Nilakshi completed her PhD in supply chain management at University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Prior to joining Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University, she was a professor in the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. She also worked as the Coordinator of the PhD Program at Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka.
