Dr Ganna Borzenkova

Research Associate


Dr Ganna Borzenkova is a Research Associate at Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University, UK.  Her research interest lies in design for health and well-being with the core interest in the role of design to engender social interactions, psychosocial well-being and social behavioural change. She is interested in innovative design solutions to improve subjective well-being and to enable self-empowerment, in particular, through serious game design and gamification.

Her most recent work is developing a communitarian communicative strategy for impoverished communities in Brazil to address infodemic during COVID-19 that undermine the efforts to contain the pandemic, using gamification and persuasive design, and developing a communicative educational strategy for COVID-19 transmission prevention in the indigenous communities in Colombia.

Dr Ganna Borzenkova has a multidisciplinary background with experience in real-world design research, teaching and working for industry. She has teaching and research experience and previously worked as a lecturer at the Kharkiv Academy of Design and Arts, the National Aerospace University (Ukraine) and the university access charity Brilliant Club (UK). She also had industry working experience at the Design studio 'FUTURA PRINT' and the charity Cerebral Palsy Midlands.
